You need to check with each state that you have lived in since most unclaimed moneys are kept in state controlled accounts. Most of the 50 states in the USA have websites where you can search for unclaimed moneys for free. There are a lot of fake websites out there that try to look like official government sites, so be careful. Unclaimed.org is a state sponsored national database run by the national association of unclaimed property administrators. This is a legitimate site that links to all the appropriate state webpages for you to search.
